Bare Rooted Rose.

Period of Availability: from end of October to 15th April. A large quantity of plants that we supply during winter are “bare rooted” without any soil, as shown in the picture. The plants are 2 years old and have 2-3 or more strong branches that start from the budding point to 10 cm over it. They also have a rich root system with many thin roots for a fast growth. Bare roots are easy to plant and very easy to transport. All bare rooted roses must remain closed in the plastic bag in which they are delivered and stored in a cold and shady environment until 5-7 days. If the plants need to be stored for more than 7 days, they can be placed in a home refrigerator with a temperature above 0 degrees. That way the plants can be stored for 20 days.

Roses in peat moss with a biodegradable net.

Period of Availability: from end of October to 31st April. These roses are put in wet peat moss which is held together by a biodegradable net (photo). The peat ball is closed in a plastic bag to maintain its humidity. Plants in peat ball can be easily stored outside in a bright location without direct sunlight for 3-4 weeks (during winter and early spring) without any additional water. Roses in peat ball will start to grow even before planting so they must be taken out of the box in which they are received (without removing the plastic bag until planting) and should be stored in a standing up position.

The roses must be planted with the net (only the plastic bag must be removed), the net is biodegradable and will leave no traces in the ground after some time. Roses in this category are easier to plant and with better success for late plantations (after mid-March). They are ideal for new gardeners that lack experience in planting. Also, you should choose this category if planting is not possible immediately (ex. muddy soil because of rain, uncertain date of planting, planting location different from reception location etc.). The price is 0,50 € higher than the corresponding bare rooted plant for each variety.

Roses grown in a 2 Liter pot.

Period of Availability: from 15th April to end of October (depending on availability and weather conditions). For excellent results during late spring you can get your roses grown in a square pot. These roses are easier to plant, more successful at planting, and can remain unplanted for several days in their original pot. They are ideal for late planting during spring or summer. The roses grow rapidly and bloom in summer.

The pot is put in a plastic bag during transport to protect the root and to preserve humidity. If the roses will be planted later than 2-3 days it is better to remove the plastic bag and put them in a sunny location. The plants must be watered regularly if it is not raining and daily if the weather is warm (>32 oC). They are very easy to plant, since they also have a biodegradable net to hold the peat together during planting. To remove the peat ball from the pot simply hold the pot upside down and pull the plant out of the pot while paying attention not to break the peat ball. The price is 0,50 € higher than the corresponding plant in a biodegradable net for each variety.
